Melanie’s journey in dentistry began at age 18, when she first stepped into a dental office as an assistant. That early spark led her to the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, where she trained to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. Today, with 33 years of experience in the field—25 of those as a hygienist—Melanie is a cornerstone of the Echeverri Dental team.

Specializing in preventative treatments, fluoride application, and periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing), Melanie is a firm believer in the power of oral hygiene education. However, her favorite part of the workday isn't just the clinical side; it’s the relationships she has nurtured over the decades. To Melanie, patients are like family, and she treasures the bond she has built with them and her coworkers through the years.

Beyond the Chair: Melanie is a true adventurer at heart. Whether she’s cruising the seas, camping in the great outdoors, or attending theater and sporting events, she is always on the move. As an active member of a travel group, she has spent countless hours mastering the art of the perfect trip. When she isn't traveling, she enjoys running and spending time with her massive extended family—including over 50 first cousins!
